Woodland inspired Baptism cake

Grace’s grandparents commissioned her baptism cake from me. Her parents provided a picture of exactly what they wanted and sourced the accessories for me. Underneath the Italian meringue buttercream icing is a 7 layer vanilla sponge filled with jam and buttercream. This photo was taken by the family, proving thank goodness, that it survived its 100 mile journey. Congratulations to everyone, especially little Grace.

Zebra christening cake

It was Octavia’s beautiful baby’s christening day this weekend. She asked me for this jam and buttercream filled Madeira cake topped with a family of 5 jolly little zebras. I love something different, and this certainly was! I hope you all had a lovely day. X

Little Train Christening Cake

I made a first birthday cake for Tobias earlier this year and last weekend he was baptised. Mum asked me for this vanilla buttercream and jam filled madeira cake topped with a jaunty sugar train. Tobias can keep the train as a souvenir as long as no one has eaten it.

Rainbow Showstopper

This was an unusual Christening cake with rainbows inside and out. Multicolour vanilla sponge layers with buttercream filling covered in fondant and topped with a sugar rainbow and rainbow flowers and little butterflies.

Jess sent me the picture of the cut cake with this very kind message: “Wow what a beautiful cake!! It was amazing in looks and taste. Well our picnic was eventful in the rain but thankfully we had the cake and Prosecco to make it all better!”

Christening cake with Train

Sue wanted a non traditional cake for her grandson Anton’s Christening party. He is 2 and loves trains and trucks, particularly Thomas. Chocolate was the request so I just topped the big sticky square cake with an engine and trucks, also made of iced chocolate cake and piped with his name.
