80th birthday cake

The ladies of Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club wanted to celebrate Annie’s big birthday. Two plain Madeira cakes iced with pink flowers in the shape of her age gave plenty for everyone as well as some to take home after the party.C30EA237-1DB6-4B83-9D66-9FBCDFDA1F3E

Pink and blue birthday cake

The only instructions that I had for this cake was that it should be dairy free, lemon flavoured sponge and decorated in both pink and blue. It was for a father and daughter double birthday tea following a celebration family lunch. I filled the cake with a squishy lemon curd and then opted for a simple design to suit all ages.

Cuckoo clock cake

Jean is celebrating her 80th birthday with a big party for family and friends. She told me that she has always owned cuckoo clocks and that her grand children always called her Nanny Cuckoo. Now her great grand child just calls her Cuckoo! So we did not have too much trouble settling on a design for her cake. This was a chocolate cake filled with black cherry jam and covered in Belgian chocolate fondant. Hope it was a success Jean.

Life’s a beach

Mike loves his sea side home and spends many hours on the beach at Milford and paddling his kayak. Pat wanted a surprise cake for his birthday that was a bit of fun. Here it is. Hope you had a good party..IMG_3014

80th birthday cake to reflect a full life

Vina asked me to make a cake for George’s birthday. He loves fruit cake so that was an easy choice. George and his family travelled the world during his career in the Life Guards and then he spent a very happy time as secretary of Winter Hill Golf Club before retiring to Milford. We tried to represent all the landmarks of his life on the cake. Hope you like it Goerge, happy birthday.
