30 years of Lymington Town Tours

Vivien contacted me via Streetlife and asked if I could make a cake to celebrate 30 years of the splendid Lymington Town Tours. (If you haven’t been on one, they are a really great way to uncover local history). We made a large plain Madeira cake with a jam filling and decorated it with Lymington landmarks in the organisation’s colours of cream and green. 30 candles finished it off. I understand the party went well and those not there got a slice of cake parcelled up in front boxes from Waitrose!

Wedding anniversary cake spanning 50 years

Irene had kept the floral topper from her original wedding cake. It was carefully packed in a box and had survived unscathed for 50 years. Irene planned a 50th anniversary party but wanted a second cake to share with her friends at church the following day so we settled on this two tier fruit cake. I made sugar flowers which I hope reflect those in the vintage topper and this was the result. Very many congratulations Irene.

Golden Wedding party twice over.

wedding anniversary
Betty had baked her own fruit cake for her wedding anniversary.
She asked me to marzipan and ice it for her.
She had made bunting and used yellow gerberas to decorate the venue which we echoed in the icing.
She then confessed she was having another 50 guests to a second party!
So I made a second cake and iced them identically. Congratulations Betty.
