Double Celebration

Mel is a biking enthusiast and it is her birthday. Amanda has just become Ladies’ Club Champion the the golf club and so a double celebration was in order. Mel’s side of the cake is chocolate sponge with chocolate fudge filling and Amanda’s, a lemon sponge filled with fresh lemon curd and buttercream. On the top, a fancy bike and Amanda’s trophy, around the sides the landscape of road cycling and the golf course. I hope you had a great night girls

Pink and Gold birthday

Vanessa contacted me through Facebook messenger to ask if I could make a cake for her daughter Ella’s 21st birthday. We decided on this 5-layered, jam and buttercream filled sponge. I smothered it in pink and white buttercream with a golden ganache drip icing and piled it high with pink tinged meringues and golden Maltesers. It was finished off with a bespoke topper and a sugar bow. I delivered it to her Gran who lives in Milford and she took it to the family party. Happy birthday Ella!

Roses

Rosemary’s aunt had her 99th birthday a couple of weeks ago. Her pride and joy is her garden full of roses so we put a big bunch of sugar roses on top of this iced lemon sponge. Rosemary kindly phoned to say how much everyone enjoyed it

Rugby

Lisa was back for another cake this week. This time her husband was turning forty and she asked for a rugby themed cake to feed a crowd. This is a jam and buttercream filled Madeira cake, iced with a chocolate-muddy rugby player in South Africa colours and a number 40 on his back of course. Hope the party (and the cake) was a success Lisa.

Dachshund cake

Emily is 30. She works for a well known estate agency and has two gorgeous little dachshunds at home. Her family wanted a lemon layer cake for her birthday celebrations, so here it is. Hope you had a lovely day Emily.

Golf lover

Lisa asked for a quick cake for a little family celebration of Dad’s birthday. He loves his golf so hopefully this jam and buttercream filled vanilla sponge will hit the spot. Here’s to your golf ball never going in the water!!

Bingo

Digby’s family have been through the mill a bit over the past few weeks but they were determined to celebrate mum’s 90th birthday. This is a gluten free fruit cake for a Bingo enthusiast. Happy Birthday Pat. I hope you enjoyed your special day with your friends

Manchester United

Carol contacted me and asked for a small vanilla sponge for her Dad (known as Fluff)’s 80th birthday. He is a life long Manchester United supporter and has always yearned for a Bentley. A slightly unusual combination for a small cake, but here we go. Hope this went down OK Carol.

Gardener’s Cake

Margaret had a big birthday last weekend. She loves her garden, particularly relaxing on her sun lounger with a good book and a glass of wine. Her daughter explained that part of the family live in Australia and she asked if I could make a little sugar koala to sit in the flowerbed to represent them. Underneath all this is a big chocolate fudge cake, enough for all Margaret’s friends and family to share. Happy birthday Margaret.

Chocoholic cake

Rachel’s Dad loves his chocolate. In particular. After Eights, Maltesers, Matchmakers, Cadbury’s chocolate fingers and Terry’s white chocolate orange. Could we get them all on a cake? Of course we can! Here we are, completely over-the-top, chocolatey, chocolate extravaganza, delivered to a local hotel for a family celebration supper.
