Bingo

Digby’s family have been through the mill a bit over the past few weeks but they were determined to celebrate mum’s 90th birthday. This is a gluten free fruit cake for a Bingo enthusiast. Happy Birthday Pat. I hope you enjoyed your special day with your friends

Manchester United

Carol contacted me and asked for a small vanilla sponge for her Dad (known as Fluff)’s 80th birthday. He is a life long Manchester United supporter and has always yearned for a Bentley. A slightly unusual combination for a small cake, but here we go. Hope this went down OK Carol.

Golden wedding

It has been Pearl and Stephen’s 50th wedding anniversary this weekend. Pearl was determined that she only wanted something very plain, but such has been the splendiferousness of their celebrations that they needed these two big rich fruit cakes plus two smaller extras, not to mention some similarly iced sponge cakes for the week after next. Congratulations to you both, I hope all the parties went to plan

Gardener’s Cake

Margaret had a big birthday last weekend. She loves her garden, particularly relaxing on her sun lounger with a good book and a glass of wine. Her daughter explained that part of the family live in Australia and she asked if I could make a little sugar koala to sit in the flowerbed to represent them. Underneath all this is a big chocolate fudge cake, enough for all Margaret’s friends and family to share. Happy birthday Margaret.

Chocoholic cake

Rachel’s Dad loves his chocolate. In particular. After Eights, Maltesers, Matchmakers, Cadbury’s chocolate fingers and Terry’s white chocolate orange. Could we get them all on a cake? Of course we can! Here we are, completely over-the-top, chocolatey, chocolate extravaganza, delivered to a local hotel for a family celebration supper.

Pink Birthday Cake

Michael phoned me and asked for a small birthday cake for his mum. She didn’t want anything fancy, just a nice chocolate cake with happy birthday written in pink. When I delivered it, I discovered that the lovely lady in question was going to be 100 ! Apparently she didn’t want a fuss. I hope you had a lovely day and very many congratulations.

Anyone for Tennis?

Tracey’s friend Gill is a tennis player and has a gorgeous little Jack Russell, Scamp. It was her birthday and Tracey asked for a lemon layer cake featuring both things, I think Scamp has been a little rejuvenated in the process, but hey ho. Hope you had a good time girls.

Cosmetics cake

Tiffany asked me for a cosmetics-themed cake to celebrate her very glamorous sister-in-law’s birthday. She chose well! Just look, somehow Crystal’s clothes and nails match her sparkly surprise cake perfectly. Sounds like they had a lovely family weekend together and i hear that the vanilla, jam and buttercream layered sponge didn’t last long!

Toothless the Dragon

Grace is 9 years old soon and has had her early birthday party this weekend. It was on the ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ theme and of course she wanted a ‘Toothless’ cake. This was a very chocolatey, sparkly, chocolate sponge cake and it seems to have gone down a storm with her friends. Happy birthday for next month Grace, I’m glad you had a lovely party.

Beach hut

Suzy’s mum was being treated to a special birthday meal at The Hut on the isle of Wight, so what better than a beach hut shaped vanilla sponge cake to celebrate? Everything is edible, including the cheeky seagull and the shells. Hope you all had a wonderful day
