This was a special cake for a lovely man who was somewhat older than my usual client group for this sort of cake. Simple jam and buttercream Victoria sponge with Thomas on the top.
Grace is 7 this year. Quote : ‘ I need a chocolate horse with a white mane and a white flash on his nose’. So this is what she got. Didn’t take long for a dozen youngsters to demolish him down to the last ear!

Mo, Paul and their family have achieved a lot this year. In spite of Mo and Paul still being in the midst of unpacking boxes after their move, the family have all gathered this weekend for a party to celebrate across four generations. We needed a double cake so that Chris’ birthday was given special mention and we took the opportunity to make one side lemon and the other chocolate to please everyone. Congratulations to you all

Val wanted a cake for a family celebration of her husband’s big birthday. Trevor splits his time between golfing and sailing so we decorated this lemon filled madeira cake with themes from both pass-times. Hope it fitted the bill.

Florence and Michael were celebrating 40 years of marriage with a weekend of celebrations with their friends. We went for a rich fruit cake decorated with ruby roses, an edible photo of their wedding day in 1978 and sugar ‘snapshots’ of their lives here on the South Coast and in Tenerife. Happy anniversary to you both.
George enjoys his vegetable gardening and is a great reader. His wife wanted a fairly simple cake which depicted these interests. Hope this fitted the bill

Rachel’s parents in law, Ian and Anne were renewing their wedding vows 50 years after they first made them. The service was to be followed by a party for all their friends and relations- all 75 of them. So, she asked for a big Madeira cake decorated with golden roses and three tiers seemed the best way to go about it. Congratulations Ian and Anne, Happy anniversary to you both.

I found out that Ian and Anne had the cake ‘piped in’ and they sent a picture of their grandson doing the honours.
