Freya is 7 and a big fan of JoJo Sewa. She is having a party at a music studio and wanted a chocolate cake with a singer on it. I did my best to make JoJo recognisable!

Debbie and her mum had organised a big family party to celebrate her big birthday. She wanted purple flowers so, as it was meant to be spring, I went for a circlet purple primulas. Unfortunately it was the weekend that the ‘beast from the east’ struck and the snow led to the party being cancelled. So two dozen purple cup cakes went on hold but the birthday cake was shared between Debbie’s colleagues at work, so nothing was wasted.

The ladies of Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club wanted to celebrate Annie’s big birthday. Two plain Madeira cakes iced with pink flowers in the shape of her age gave plenty for everyone as well as some to take home after the party.
The only instructions that I had for this cake was that it should be dairy free, lemon flavoured sponge and decorated in both pink and blue. It was for a father and daughter double birthday tea following a celebration family lunch. I filled the cake with a squishy lemon curd and then opted for a simple design to suit all ages.

Trish wanted a no nonsense birthday cake for her 70th birthday party. So we chose a big lemon layer cake iced in green to compliment the venue decorations for her barn dance celebrations.
Florence asked me to make 36 yellow and blue cupcakes for her great nephew’s christening celebrations today. Here are a few of them. Hope it all goes well Florence.

Jean is celebrating her 80th birthday with a big party for family and friends. She told me that she has always owned cuckoo clocks and that her grand children always called her Nanny Cuckoo. Now her great grand child just calls her Cuckoo! So we did not have too much trouble settling on a design for her cake. This was a chocolate cake filled with black cherry jam and covered in Belgian chocolate fondant. Hope it was a success Jean.

Jess wanted a cake for little Mia’s Christening that would keep everyone happy. So we made a rich fruit cake topped with a jam filled Madeira and then covered them liberally with pink and purple flowers and butterflies.
Mike loves his sea side home and spends many hours on the beach at Milford and paddling his kayak. Pat wanted a surprise cake for his birthday that was a bit of fun. Here it is. Hope you had a good party..
Steve is an enthusiastic ice hockey fan and an avid follower of the Canadian Maple Leafs. So for his special birthday I used the royal icing flood work technique to trace the team emblem and then personalised it to fit the occasion. Hope you like it Steve.
