Debbie contacted me months ago to order a special cake for her intrepid mother in law. Margaret will be celebrating her 80th birthday this weekend and then on her actual birthday will set off in her campervan with her Labrador Molly by her side. They are off up to the Scottish Highlands to complete the North Coast 500. What a way to celebrate!

I made a cake for Marilyn’s birthday a little while ago and now she wants one for her husband Mike. He was in the police force, has a lovely black Labrador and his Land Rover is his pride and joy. Jack’s birthday has come round again and each year he has a big party to celebrate, during which he raises funds for Oakhaven Hospice. Jack had a cake with blue and white bunting last year and he wanted the same this time round but also a sugar model of his wire haired dachshund Lola. Here it is, they sent me a picture of Jack with his cake, by then adorned with indoor fireworks. Glad you had a good evening Jack
Maggie and John celebrated 50 years of marriage this weekend with an informal garden party for their friends. They chose a lemon layer cake iced with sugar models of the three things they felt represented them the best.. their first car a Morris 1000 Traveller, their joint passion for gardening and their beloved dog Matt. There is a very subtle nod to the goldenness of their anniversary in the colour of the writing and trim but nobody is really counting are they? Congratulations to you both.
This is a birthday cake for a lady with many talents and interests. She is a retired nurse, she loves to sing, loves to travel (she is just back from a trip to Australia), and enjoys gardening. She adores her two granddaughters and her dog. I don’t think we could have got much more onto this rich fruit cake. Just right for a celebration with family and friends.
