Diamond Wedding and 80th birthday

Jill and Eric celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends at a local hotel. This is a rich fruit cake (Eric’s favourite) iced with marzipan and white fondant and decorated with diamond ribbons. On the side is a bunch of hand made sugar sweet peas.

Jill was married on her 20th birthday so has always had to share her birthday celebrations with her anniversary. This year, she decided that she would also have her favourite cake – a squishy chocolate sponge, filled with chocolate fudge, iced in chocolate buttercream and covered in chocolate sweets and golden sprinkles. I hope you both had a wonderful day and congratulations

People find me in may different ways and Janet was put in touch with me by our hairdresser. Janet wanted a special but simple cake to share with her family and friends on her 80th birthday. This is a vanilla madeira cake filled with jam and buttercream and topped with tiny pink and mauve sugar flowers in the shape of the eighty. Just right.

Travel Wine and Horses!

Janine organised a surprise party for her husbands 80th birthday. Peters interests are horse-racing, holidays and wine and they like both chocolate and lemon cake. So the eight is a lemon cake filled with lemon curd and decorated with sugar wine bottles and holiday paraphernalia. The zero is chocolate cake iced to look a bit like a race track with sugar railings. Janine popped some little model race horses on it and we had all bases covered. Not so easy hiding a giant cake until it was needed but hey ho..
